Oridyct

Oridyct

A short part
of a personal speech
or spoken response
which, when played back,
epitomizes
the viewpoint
of an entire group
or body of people.

"I am my people's keeper."

"A nation is only as free
as its prisons."

"The azaleas bloom early"
is not an oridyct,
but an ecodyct.

Somewhere in the early spring sky,
the two meet
and a tree
hugs itself.
